“the Twenty fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time”

The light of Christ enters our worship with the lighting of our candles.

Welcome and Announcements

Call to Worship: (Adapted from Exodus 15)

Leader: I will sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously; horse and rider he has thrown into the sea.

People: The LORD is my strength and my might, and he has become my salvation;

Leader: this is my God, and I will praise him,

People: He is my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

ALL: The LORD is a warrior; the LORD is his name.

Call to Confession

Prayer of Confession (in unison)

Forgive us seven times, seventy times, seventy-seven times, O Lord, even when we neglect to forgive as freely as you forgive us. Forgive us with such abundance and grace, that our hearts may overflow with gratitude and mercy; that we may begin to forgive freely and accept others gladly, as you have forgiven and accepted us. Welcome us into your arms of love, that we may welcome others with compassion and care. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen. (Please take a moment for silent reflection.)
